On December 10, the world celebrates the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which led to dozens of international human rights treaties, but how is human rights unfolding in the world today? This talk will look at the actions of Hamas and Israel to discuss how international law is being violated and what that means for that region, for the world more broadly, for the United States, and for us as UUs subscribing to principles that encompass many human rights norms. As a Unitarian, attorney, and assistant professor of public law, Carol Gray will share the legal principles that come into play with this conflict and thoughts about what it has to do with us as Americans and UUs.
